Become a Veterinarian Camp Contest is open through March 31.

With its sixth annual Become a Veterinarian Camp Contest, Vet Set Go, the first and only community devoted to aspiring teen and tween veterinarians, in collaboration with Merck Animal Health and VCA Animal Hospitals, is assisting children in pursuing their goals of becoming a veterinarian. The online essay contest provides sixth- to eighth-graders the opportunity to earn a position at Auburn University’s Junior Vet Camp, which will take place from June 26 to July 1, 2022 at Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine, one of the country’s top veterinary institutions. The game begins on Tuesday, March 1 and ends on Thursday, March 31 at vetsetgo.com. On or before May 31, 2022, the contest winners will be contacted. Three students will receive a prize package from the Auburn Junior Veterinary Camp in Auburn, Alabama, which includes camp tuition, housing and board.

All American Pet Expo, March 11-13

This year’s 25th anniversary celebration will be the largest ever, including a variety of pet-related events. The All About Cats Expo will include a cat parade where you can hear owners talk about their cat’s breed; a Cats 101 area where you can learn all about cats; CatBoss, who will be giving out high-fives and teaching you how to get your cat to do tricks; cat agility; and a TICA-sponsored cat show with 250 breeds competing. National Poison Prevention Week is March 20-26.

This week’s emphasis is on informing pet owners on what might poison their pets, how to recognize the symptoms of poisoning, and how to avoid it. It’s a good time to recall the hazards of hazardous materials such as plants, herbicides, fertilizers, and pesticides in the springtime. Cats KC Cat Show, March 26

This CFA show is hosted by Cats KC and takes place in the 4-H Building on the Johnson County Fairgrounds in Gardner, Kansas. In five Allbreed rings and one Specialty ring, 150 cats will participate. More information may be found here.

A Country Fair Cat Show will be held on March 26.
